This page is the central place for us to update you on what we are doing at REACH through-out the current crisis. There will be regular updates and we will share local Facebook pages here.
Facebook page for Gleadless Valley;
Facebook page for Lowedges, Batemoor and Jordanthorpe;
We are able to go and pick up shopping for people in need that are living in Gleadless Valley/Low Edges, Batemoor and Jordanthorpe. This is a service that we are offering to those who are unable to leave the house due self-isolating for health/age reasons and are alone or don’t have others to rely on. If you feel you would benefit from this service or you know someone who might (eg, you live away from a loved one and are concerned about how they’re managing etc) please phone
or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Following our full team meeting this morning we have made the decision to continue to limit contact with the public.
Most of the services we currently offer are now moving to phone calls. No face-to-face contact unless otherwise stated.
We are reminding everyone that they don’t need to use PC’s to job search during this current situation and the DWP have advised that clients will not receive sanctions.
Newfield Green Library is now closed to the public. If you have any outstanding books do not worry, these fees will be waived. Groups in the Library have been suspended until further notice.
Youth groups are now closed until further notice.
Our link workers are doing what they can, contacting the surgeries and ringing patients etc.
If you have an appointment with any of our staff members, they will contact you by phone.
We will update the REACH website and Social Media Accounts when we have further information.
***Update 11:15am 17/3/20***
The adult learning courses are still going ahead. Following guidance from the SCC the courses will finish as planned at the end of term. Apologies for any confusion that may have been caused.
The Library is closed to the public, and any fines are to be waived if books aren’t returned.
In light of the recent developments with COVID-19 we have unfortunately made the decision to close the library and all other activities/events as of today (17/3/20). The lunch club at the library today is the last event to go ahead. However, we do ask that if you are feeling unwell please do not attend the lunch club.
If you have a meeting arranged with a member of staff in the coming weeks please contact them to either re-arrange or to arrange a phone consult.
It has been a difficult decision but we must put the health of all staff, volunteers and service users first.
We will have a further update after our full team meeting tomorrow but for now these are the measures that we have put in place.
Stay safe everyone!
