About the service
We offer a one-to-one support service for people living in Gleadless Valley to encourage them to make positive changes to their lifestyles, in order to help them improve their health and wellbeing. This may include helping them to get out of the house more, do more exercise, eat healthily, stop smoking or lose weight.
We have two health practitioners who work directly with adults over a 6-8 week period. During this time they set achievable goals and provide advice, encouragement and support to achieve these. They have knowledge of activities and services, both in the local area and citywide, and are able to signpost and refer people to these where appropriate.
Over the past six years, more than 450 people in the Gleadless Valley area have made improvements to their lifestyle through this service.
