Older People's Project

Do you know an older person in south Sheffield who may need some support?  The older people's project helps local older people by:

  • Supporting older people to access the services, resources and facilities they need to maintain their independence and quality of life.
  • Promoting health, diet and exercise to reduce health inequalities.
  • Empowering older people to make choices.
  • Focusing on those who are vulnerable in order to prevent hospital admission and reduce pressure on health services.
  • Working with local groups and organisations to help develop more activities, lunch clubs, day trips and exercise classes

Silver Surfers

A volunteer-led group for people over 50 who would like to learn how to get the most out of the internet for everyday living. Learn how to shop online safely, book holidays and use social media and email. We can also show you how to send texts from your mobile phone.

The group runs on Wednesdays, from 11.00-12.30pm at Newfield Green Library, Gleadless Road, Sheffield S2 2BT.

Lunch Club

We run a lunch club every Tuesday at Terry Wright Hall for older people. If you need transport, we can pick you up and take you home again. We serve a hot meal and provide social activities such as raffles and Bingo. Before you can join the group, we need to assess your needs to ensure we are able to accommodate you.
