Live Better: Get Connected

About the project

Live Better: Get Connected is a financial and social inclusion service provided by Reach South Sheffield in partnership with Age Better in Sheffield. The service is aimed at people aged 50 and over who live in the Beauchief and Greenhill Ward, and their natural neighbourhoods, who find financial issues or health problems are stopping them from getting connected with their local community.

What the project can offer?

The Live Better: Get Connected Coordinator, Lewis Bowman, supports people for up to 12 months on a one-to-one basis and provides:

  • Financial support and advice
  • A safe place to talk about money
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • A range of local groups and activities to take part in
  • The opportunity to get involved in shaping the project as a “Community Expert”

If you, or someone you know, is 50 and over, then this is a brilliant opportunity to discover lots of incredible services on your doorstep that you might not have previously known about.

“Without the encouragement and support of Reach, I think I would have given up by now. Thanks to them I am starting to enjoy life again and feel part of the community” (Service User)
