Our History

  • Reach South Sheffield started in 1999 under the name of the Gleadless Valley Community Forum, with funding from SRB2. Initially, we received support from the Heeley Development Trust, which employed staff on our behalf.

  • In 2003, we became a registered charity and the following year we began employing our own staff. Then, in 2009, we expanded our services beyond Gleadless Valley into the neighbouring communities of Lowedges, Batemoor and Jordanthorpe, and we changed our name to reflect this.
  • We now employ 18 full and part time staff, and have over 25 volunteers working on a range of activities and projects throughout our communities.
